Sokolana Beach Kastel Sucurac and Kamp Beach Kastel Gomilica
Kaštel Sucurac, a charming coastal town, boasts two local beaches that are favored by its residents for daily visits. These beaches are conveniently located less than a two-minute drive away from the heart of the town, making them easily accessible for a quick getaway to the sea. The two beaches, known as Sokolana beach and Kamp beach, offer a delightful escape for both relaxation and recreation. Sokolana beach is situated in the downtown area, while Kamp beach is located in the picturesque neighborhood of Gomilica.
Both beaches are quite inviting and have their own unique appeal, attracting locals and visitors alike. However, it’s worth noting that securing a shaded spot on the beach requires an early arrival, as the best areas can fill up quickly during the busy summer months.

During the peak hours of the day, both beaches tend to become quite crowded, particularly until around 11 in the morning and again from 4 in the afternoon onward. This influx of beachgoers can create a lively atmosphere, making it a great place for socializing and meeting friends. However, for those who are simply looking to take a refreshing dip in the cool, clear waters, visiting during the quieter hours can provide a more peaceful experience. The beaches are well-loved for their clean surroundings and the inviting nature of the Adriatic Sea, which makes them ideal for a quick swim or a leisurely day by the water.
Sokolana beach is particularly popular among local children, as it is easily accessible on foot. This proximity allows families to frequent the beach without the hassle of driving too far, and as a result, you will often find a lively crowd of kids enjoying themselves in the sun.

On the other hand, Kamp beach, officially located in Kastel Gomilica but closer to Sucurac, tends to attract families with children, creating a friendly and safe environment for all ages. Safety is a significant concern for beachgoers, and it is reassuring to note that there have been no reported incidents at either beach for many years, allowing families to relax and enjoy their time without worry.
One of the primary reasons I prefer Kamp beach over Sokolana is its convenient amenities. There are two beach bars located just a few meters from the shoreline, where parents can enjoy a cup of coffee while keeping a watchful eye on their children playing in the sand or splashing in the water. These bars offer a pleasant atmosphere and serve a range of refreshments at reasonable prices, making it easy to spend a leisurely day without breaking the bank. Additionally, Kamp beach is significantly larger than Sokolana, providing ample space for visitors to spread out and find their own little corner of paradise.
Parking is also a breeze at Kamp beach, with free parking available nearby, ensuring that you won’t have to worry about finding a spot for your vehicle, even during the busy summer season.
